COLLABORATE WITH OTHERS AROUND THE WORLD WITH GLOBAL PROJECTS

 iEARN (International Education and Resource Network) -the largest non-profit global network for teachers and students to collaborate on projects that enhance learning and make a difference in the world.

Flat  Classrooms “The first project was founded in 2006 by two classroom teachers, Julie Lindsay (then in Dhaka, Bangladesh) and Vicki Davis (Camilla, Georgia) and quickly received recognition for the innovative approach of knitting two classrooms together for common authentic research and production of meaningful, unique multimedia.”

Use SKYPE to collaborate with all sports of people all over the world. There are even special elements of it just for us like SKYPE an AUTHOR. “Wouldn’t it be great to invite authors into your classroom or library to video chat with students before, during, and/or after reading their books? We are growing a list of authors who want to make that connection with you.

VANISHED is an  “8-week immersive online/offline mystery science game for middle-years students, “meant to inspire engagement and problem solving through science.”It is run my the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the Smithsonian Institution. Students become investigators and race to complete online challenges and they also get to work collaboratively with  Smithsonian scientists, MIT students and their peers online.

While the current “mission” has finished a new one is in the pipeline so it is well worth going on-line and signing in so you are notified when the next adventure begins.
